In the Valley

Faith Lutheran partners with several local ministries to support our neighbors:

These partnerships reflect our commitment to sharing Christ’s love through compassion, generosity, and service.

Global & National Connections

The World - Faith Lutheran might be small but we are doing some great things!

Giving Everywhere

Global Ministries

Through the wider church, we join with Lutherans across the world in ministries that bring hope, healing, and practical support to communities in need. These partnerships allow our congregation to make a meaningful impact far beyond our local valley, connecting us to God’s work on a global scale.

  • ELCA World Hunger We support churchwide efforts to end hunger and poverty by addressing both immediate needs and long‑term solutions. This ministry provides food, clean water, agricultural training, job development, and community‑based programs that help families build sustainable futures. Learn more at ELCA World Hunger or Lutheran World Relief.

  • ELCA Good Gifts Through ELCA Good Gifts, we help provide life‑changing resources such as livestock, clean water systems, seeds, school supplies, and health tools to families around the world. These gifts empower communities to grow stronger, healthier, and more self‑sufficient. Explore giving options through ELCA Good Gifts.

  • Lutheran Disaster Response When disaster strikes—whether hurricanes, wildfires, floods, or humanitarian crises—Lutheran Disaster Response offers immediate relief and long‑term recovery. This ministry stays long after the headlines fade, helping communities rebuild homes, restore livelihoods, and find hope again. Learn more through ELCA Disaster Response.

  • God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday

Each year we join ELCA congregations nationwide for God’s Work. Our Hands. Sunday, a day dedicated to serving our neighbors and sharing Christ’s love in practical ways. Whether preparing meals, supporting local nonprofits, cleaning community spaces, or caring for those in need, we step out together to make a positive impact.

This day reminds us that faith is active and lived out through service, compassion, and generosity. Through our shared efforts, we extend God’s love beyond our walls and into the heart of our community.

Our Holy Sacraments

In Lutheranism, sacraments are sacred acts instituted by Christ that convey God’s grace through a visible element, with Baptism and Holy Communion being the two primary sacraments recognized.

Holy Baptism

This sacrament initiates individuals into the Christian faith. Water is used as the visible element while invoking the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Baptism grants forgiveness of sins, spiritual rebirth, and marks the person as a child of God. It is practiced for any age, including infants, emphasizing God’s grace rather than human understanding or decision.

The Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion

In this sacrament, believers eat bread and drink wine, which are the true Body and Blood of Christ, received “in, with, and under” their respective forms. It sustains faith, forgives sins, and unites believers with Christ and each other through the real presence of Jesus.
