A warm invitation to grow in faith and community.
Welcome to Faith Lutheran Church
We are delighted that you are considering becoming part of our church family. Whether you are new to the area, returning to church, or exploring faith, we welcome you with open hearts. At Faith Lutheran Church, we gather around God’s Word and Sacraments, grow in discipleship, and serve our neighbors in Christ’s name.
Membership is not about requirements — it’s about belonging, participating, and walking together in faith.
Why Membership Matters
Becoming a member means:
-
Joining a community of believers who worship, learn, and serve together
-
Growing in faith through Scripture, prayer, and the Sacraments
-
Sharing your gifts in ministry, service, and fellowship
-
Supporting one another in times of joy and in times of need
-
Participating in the mission of Christ’s Church in Fort Valley and beyond
Membership is a commitment to walk together as the Body of Christ.
How to Become a Member
We welcome new members through:
1. Transfer of Membership
If you are coming from another Lutheran or Christian congregation, we can request a transfer on your behalf.
2. Affirmation of Baptism
If you have been baptized but not currently active in a congregation, you may join by affirming your faith.
3. Baptism
If you have not been baptized, we joyfully welcome you to receive the Sacrament of Holy Baptism and become part of Christ’s family.
4. Youth Confirmation
Young people may become members through our Confirmation ministry, where they learn the foundations of the Christian faith and Lutheran tradition.
What to Expect
New members are welcomed during a Sunday worship service with a brief rite of affirmation and blessing. You will be introduced to the congregation, prayed for, and celebrated as part of our church family.
We also offer opportunities to learn more about:
-
Lutheran beliefs
-
Our congregation’s history and mission
